Midtherm Goes Green

01/08/2022

With the threats of global warming increasing more and more every year, Midtherm Engineering have been making small changes to secure a better future for the next generation.

How have we done this you ask?

  • All offices and communal areas have paper and mixed recycling facilities.
  • All cardboard (that is not disposed of when off-site working) is disposed of within a designated cardboard skip on our premises.
  • Our batteries are recycled.
  • 4 Vans and 9 company cars are owned by Midtherm Engineering, 3 of which are fully electric and 3 of which are hybrid. We are making a migration to ultra-low and or zero emission vehicles which will continue with future car replacements.
  • All employees are encouraged to share vehicles to cut impact on the environment wherever practicable.
  • By encouraging employees to be more cautious we have seen a reduction of approx. 25% in our water and electric usage from 2020 -2021
  • We are in the process of migrating to paperless processing, beginning with our estimating department who went fully paperless in November 2021.
  • Midtherm are also in the process of refurbishing our building, beginning with the removal of our single glaze aluminum windows and installation of new double glazed windows. Our old boilers are due to be replaced with new high efficiency boilers in Autumn 2022.

Since achieving ISO 14001 in 2018 Midtherm have been fully committed to continually improving our impact on the environment which is evident in the small changes we have stated above, and our eco journey will continue as our company grows.
