This project sought Midtherm’s expertise as we were required to design, construct and install two new permanent flue solutions and a temporary flue system solution that would be adaptable throughout the project development.

The final result would be two compliant flue solutions serving plant that would provide energy to the 844 apartments, 8 shops, restaurants and public plaza.

The flue installation at Braintree Hospital sought Midtherm’s technical experience to investigate issues with the existing system and involved evening working to maintain boiler service through the day.

Our installation at Thermofisher Scientific, required Midtherm Engineering to establish a strategic sequence of works to ensure sufficient space was available, for the required plant and equipment, during the entire installation process.

The 2No self-supporting chimney structures stand at over 10m high and each serve a 25 tonne steam boiler.

This case study provides an overview of three of the remarkable projects we have completed in the Middle East. Often these projects involve our engineers travelling to site at the design stage followed by the generation of technical solutions incorporating structural, mechanical and fluid dynamic resolutions for what are often incredibly diverse requirements. 

The Baglioni Hotel, London project required installation of temporary and permanent flue systems, high and low level ventilation, all whilst causing minimal disruption to the residents of the Hotel.

By taking the time to fully assess what was needed, and how it could be achieved, we were able to provide the client with the best solution with as little disruption as possible

Our Windvent natural ventilation units offer a greener approach and are a more cost effective alternative to typical air conditioning.

The installation at Castle Hill Primary School incorporated the intelligent Windvent design and by powder coating them as per the colours of the rainbow created an aesthetically pleasing and unique ventilation solution.

The project included fitting 12 units at various locations around the site and our Windvent intelligent control systems, which the school uses to operate its natural ventilation system.

Construction of the Zayed Centre for Research into Rare Disease in Children began in 2015. The new centre will be the world's first purpose built centre dedicated to research into rare disease. 

Midtherm Engineering Ltd were appointed by Skanska in October 2017 to carry out the design, manufacture, installation and pressure testing of the new boiler and CHP flue systems required to provide heating for the centre in London. 

University of Warwick was in the process of making significant changes to its campus which required the University to increase the discharge height of the existing Main Energy Centre flues.

Midtherm Engineering completed photo realistic visualisations, dispersal modelling, structural and civil design works, pressure testing and design, manufacture and installation of new flue systems, mast structure and steel gantry.

The work was all to be completed within a tight timeframe to facilitate the opening and commissioning of the new building.
